Carbon Fiber

An extremely lightweight cloth-like material, often mixed with resin in order to permanently shape it. In OEM automotive applications, carbon fiber is used extensively in exotic performance vehicles because of the combination of strength and light weight. In the automotive aftermarket and racing worlds, carbon fiber is used to replace steel body panels to decrease the overall weight of the vehicle, resulting in “free horsepower,” and for construction of aerodynamics-enhancing components (wings, canards, etc.) An added benefit of carbon fiber is its awesome appearance, leading many to install carbon fiber parts strictly for aesthetic reasons. Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with that! Popular carbon fiber parts include hoods, trunks, fenders, mirrors. Believe it or not, there are even carbon fiber wheels! The possibilities are endless!

"Hey, I’m going to go lighten up my car real quick. Wanna help me install a carbon fiber trunk, hood, mirrors, roof skin, wheels, brakes, and antenna?"
