Okay, let's all admit it: none of us knew what NRG stood for when the company first opened its doors in 2003, but what we did quickly find out is how good its products are. To be honest, we initially listened to the rumors about how NRG was just another "low budget" company, but once we had its products in our hands, we knew that we were dealing with some high-quality stuff. NRG's attention to detail is great, and we haven't had any problems with any of its products thus far. One of our favorite items is NRG's steering wheel quick-release kit, which comes in various models. After years of use, they stay tight and still work like new. Oh, and in case you were also wondering, NRG stands for Next Racing Generation.
Q: What are hood dampers? Why buy them?
A: Hood dampers are miniature gas pressurized shocks that are used to support your hood when it is open, and to prevent it from slamming down when you go to close it. These supports are simple in design but perform an important task. Overtime lift supports can lose their charge so that they can no longer fully support the weight of your hood. You might first find this out the hard way by getting hit in the head as the hood tries to close on top of you. Once your hood starts to creep down there is not turning back, your dampers are shot. If you have worn out hood dampers it is time to get a brand new replacement pair. Your frustration will vanish and you will have flawless hood operation for many years to come
