Shifteck, as many companies often do, got into the automotive aftermarket business by manufacturing parts for other companies. After a few years of building certain things, you tend to get to know them inside and out, and Shifteck has transferred this knowledge to its own line of custom short-throw shifters, which are available for many popular sports cars. Shifteck's shifters are built to isolate vibration, retain your OEM shift knob, and of course reduce the shifter's throw. With a no questions asked lifetime warranty on all of its shifters, Shifteck is making a big name for itself after helping many other companies make theirs.
Q: Are short shifters available for every vehicle?
A: Short shifters are vehicle specific and are not universal. They are not available for any automatic transmission vehicles.
Q: How do you install a short shifter?
A: Short shifters are installed by removing your factory shift lever from your transmission. Your center console will have to be removed along with your shift boot and shift knob in order to access the lower part of your shifter mechanism. Once removed, the short shifter should be directly bolted in and everything should be re-assembled. Instructions are included and installation takes around 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools.
