Description:
Tein's Street Basis Z coilovers are designed for street use. With these being made by a company as legendary as Tein, these truly give you superior quality for an affordable price! The Street Basis Z coilovers give you ride height adjustability and incorporate fixed damping force.

Tein is able to offer these coilovers at such a low price by using a "sealed structure". The top end of the shell pipe is narrowed, oil and gas are injected, and the whole unit is sealed by crimping the metal. This new approach massively shortens the production process and therefore the cost.

THREAD-TYPE RIDE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The ride height can be adjusted by moving the lower spring seat up or down. Characteristics of this system are its simple structure and ease of use.

TWIN-TUBE SYSTEM
Compared to the regular mono-tube system, twin-tube attains longer stroke with a smaller repulsive force, resulting in high ride comfort. Roads may have all sorts of surface conditions. This calls for shock absorbers with ample stroke, that operate smoothly. Thanks to this unique characteristic, you can negotiate gaps and bumps steadily on rough roads, meaning a smooth ride at low speed and stability at high speed.

USES OE MOUNTS
STREET ADVANCE Z and STREET BASIS Z use the vehicle's original upper mounts.

OPTIMAL DUST BOOT
Thanks to its smooth compression and high durability, the dust boot guards the piston rod from damage, and keeps foreign material out of the shock absorber. (Some vehicles use their OE dust boots.)

NO-SAG SPRING
Cold formed with SAE9254 steel (minimum tensile strength 200 kgf/mm2), Tein springs are outstandingly sag-proof and boast extreme resiliency. Superior rust protection is ensured with a highly durable powder coating that does not peel or flake. Their high-quality springs can be used without worries, in any conditions.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE DAMPER OIL
Since TEIN's damper oil maintains a stable viscosity in a broad temperature range, it sustains smooth stroke and reliable damping force in a variety of circumstances. Due to excellent anti-foaming properties, it's resistant to cavitation (bubble forming). Since it withstands high heat too, it's suitable for intense sport driving as well. Furthermore, the damper oil keeps up its superior performance long-term, because it's resistant to deterioration over time.

RUST-PROOFING
A bright TEIN-green powder paint is used on the shock absorber's shell case. Tein's powder coating technique produces an extremely strong and durable barrier. No harmful organic solvents are used, for minimal pollution. Superior durability and corrosion resistance are achieved by TEIN's patented 2-Layer, 1-Bake powder coating method, which uses 2 layers of anti-rust paint on a blasted surface. (Japanese patent number 4347712)

SPECIAL SURFACE TREAMENT 'ZT COATING'
Tein's unique ZT Coating surface treatment on the ride height adjustment thread is abrasion resistant against gravel/debris, and further enhances its corrosion resistance. With zero claims for stuck parts due to rust in 500,000 shock absorbers, TEIN shock absorbers are amazingly rustproof. They're confident of customer satisfaction even in coastal areas or regions with heavy snowfall.

FAQs
Q: Do coilovers come in sets of 4?
A: Coilovers are only sold in sets of four.

Q: What do coilovers do? Why buy coilovers?
A: Coilovers allow you to lower your car and give you the ability to make adjustments in ride height. As opposed to lowering springs, which have a pre-determined, un-changing ride height, coilovers can be adjusted. This can be very valuable because if you don't know the exact ride height that will be optimal for your car, buying coilovers gives you the ability to adjust the right height and make it just right. Additionally, if you want to change your ride height based on different driving conditions, coilovers of course allow you to do so.

Q: Will I need a camber kit after installing coilovers?
A: In some cases you will not need a camber kit, as long as your local alignment can be put back into proper specifications. If not, a camber kit will help by allowing additional adjustment beyond what your factory alignment parts are capable of.

Q: How do you install coilovers?
A: Depending if you opt to go with the full coilover systems or the coilover sleeves, the spring and strut housing will need to be removed. Once the factory coil springs and struts are removed they can be replaced with the full coilover setup. If you're using a coilover sleeve then the factory spring will be removed from the strut setup and replaced with the coilover sleeve unit. A professional shop should install your coilovers as an alignment and corner-balancing services will need to be done at the same time the installation is completed.

Q: Why is there such a huge price difference between some coilovers? Are there different types of coilovers?
A: There are two different kinds of coilovers: full coilover systems and coilover sleeves. Coilover sleeves are just the adjustable coils themselves. If you already have shocks or struts and have a camber kit that you're content with, then just buying the coilover sleeves will be adequate. Also, if you are looking for adjustable lowering components that are inexpensive, coilover sleeves are the way to go. Full coilover systems on the other hand come with not only the adjustable coils, but also with replacement shocks or struts and with a built-in camber adjuster. Full coilover systems let you drop your car and maintain or improve ride quality, and maintain even camber. The shocks that are built into full coilovers are specifically made for lowered cars, so they will ensure a great ride quality.
