Hardcore wheelers may want the additional protection provided by the Optional FJ Cruiser Front Bumper Skid Plate. This 3/16” steel plate mounts to the front underbelly of the bumper to offer additional protection when assaulting the obstacles on the trails. The FJ Cruiser Front Bumper Skid Plate works with both the original and the low profile FJ Cruiser front bumpers. The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware. Just bolt it on and hit the trail!
Note: This FJ Cruiser Front Bumper Skid Plate was engineered to allow for a snug fit with the addition of a Line-X or Rhino lining treatment. Washer spacers have been included in this kit to allow for proper fitment using other surface treatments

A: Skid plates are steel or metal plates designed to protect the undercarriage of your vehicle from hard impacts and damage from things like rocks and tree branches. There are a huge range of applications for skid plates including u-bolt protection, gas tank protection, transfer case and transmission guards, oil pan guards and suspension protection. Any component under your vehicle is vulnerable to a ground attack. If you drive on rough roads then it is a good idea to add some armor to your undercarriage with aftermarket skid plates. These plates have been designed to withstand heavy abuse to keep your vehicle safe and in good running condition. The last thing you want when driving down the trail is to punch a hole in your oil pan or gas tank. With a protective skid plate mounted you no longer have to worry about getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.
