US Body Source Running Boards - Race Weight, Long Wheel Base
US Body Source has been manufacturing race-weight fiberglass body panels for serious race junkies for many years, with most popular race cars well-represented. Since US Body Source mostly manufactures panels for race applications, some finishing work should be expected for on those pieces for a perfect fit, especially if they will be painted. However, the company does also offer show-ready panels that are smooth-finished for those of us who just want our rides to look good.
Q: What are side steps? Why buy sidesteps?
A: Aside from their stylish good looks, sidesteps are used for secure footing while getting inside or out of your truck. Most come with a rubber footing pad providing a non-slip step in any weather, and most are fade- and crack-resistant even under the harshest conditions.
Q: What exactly is a running board, and what other different types of sidesteps are available?
A: There are an enormous variety of sidesteps of available. In general, they can be broken down into three main categories: nerf bars, running boards, and what we call 'truck steps'. Running boards are flat step panels that run directly alongside the body of the truck, and there is huge variety of running boards available on the market. They are available in fiberglass, plastic, or metal, and with or without lights. Nerf bars are tubular step bars that extend away from the body of the truck to serve as a step. There are an enormous variety of styles and finishes available for nerf bars. "Truck steps', as we call them, are individual single steps that do not extend along the length of your truck's rocker panel. The options are seemingly endless with side steps, and really your choice just comes down to a matter of taste for how you want your truck to look.
