Western Chassis is a company based out of Fresno, California that has been developing effective approaches to lowering a truck while maintaining proper ride quality since 1981.
Frustrated with the way "sport trucks" were having their springs heated and cut, resulting in harsh ride quality, Western Chassis designed and implemented some of the first drop spindles, first on the 1955-1957 Chevrolet Passenger Car and the Chevrolet C-10 Pickup (1970-1987) early on in their time as a company. This innovation allowed their customers to obtain the sleek look a lowered truck offered without any of the compromises in ride quality they were afraid of. Recently, Western Chassis has moved to a larger, more modernized facility that has allowed them to expand their product line.

Q: What are coil springs? Why buy coil springs?
A: Coil springs are one way to lower the front end (and in some cases the rear) of your truck or SUV. Many trucks have factory coil springs as part of the suspension for the front of the truck, and these can be replaced with coil springs engineered to lower your truck. You can lower the front of your truck in multiple ways; using lowering coil springs is just one of them. Coil springs are popular because they are, in general, less expensive than other means of lowering the front of your truck. Most coil springs can be used with either your factory spindles or aftermarket lowering spindles.
Q: How do you install coil springs?
A: We recommend taking your truck to a professional shop for installation because removing the compressed shock can prove dangerous. Coil springs are installed by removing the factory springs and shocks from their perch, installing the new coil springs and re-installing the shocks.
Q: Do coil springs come in sets of 4?
A: Coil springs are sold on our site in sets of two unless otherwise noted. Spring companies sell these springs in sets of two for the front (and two for the rear when applicable, depending on your truck or SUV).
Q: Are coil springs adjustable?
A: Coil springs are non-adjustable and have pre-set height and spring rates. Make sure you choose the right drop for your truck the first time, because otherwise you will need to purchase a new set if you have a change of heart.
