FAQs
Q: What are drop brackets? Why buy them?
A: Drop brackets are components designed for use on vehicles with body lifts which may interfere with some of the other controls in the vehicle such as the gear shift lever. A drop bracket is essentially an extension which can be mounted to the bottom of your gear shift lever to allow for smooth normal shifting in your body lift equipped rig. Without this bracket your gear shift lever would not come up high enough and would potentially be hindered by the body work which in turn would prevent it from throwing all the way, making shifts difficult or impossible. The drop bracket corrects the shift geometry restoring your driving experience back to normal. If you have a body lift of more than 1 inch, it is a good idea to look into a drop bracket.
