Installing an aftermarket Acura short shifter is usually very easy, requiring that only a few bolts and/or retaining clips be removed in order to install the new shifter. A short shifter is much more than a shortened lever. A true short shifter repositions the fulcrum point of the shifter so that gear changes can be made with less actual throw, resulting in faster and more precise shifting.
